The Devices module in VSA 10 contains several features that are useful for onboarding and managing devices.

The following features are available within the Devices module. Use the links below or the left navigation menu to learn more:

  • Device Management: The Device Management feature is a powerful utility that enables you to create, leverage, and share highly customizable search queries based on a wide variety of attributes and telemetry records associated with your managed devices. Refer to Finding and managing devices.
  • Site Maps: The Site Maps features allows you to create maps of devices on a network, configure device settings, and enable and configure SNMP monitoring for those devices. Refer to Site Maps.
  • Device List: The Device List feature enumerates all of your devices across all organizations and provides management options for them. It surfaces important details about each endpoint, including its hostname, assigned user and organization, installed software, monitoring status, and more. Refer to Viewing device details.
  • MDM Enrollment: The MDM Enrollment feature enables configuration of mobile device management (MDM) for supported devices. Refer to VSA 10 MDM: enrollment.
  • Groups: The Groups feature allows you to view the hierarchies and members of all of the agent groups associated with your VSA 10 tenant. Refer to Device groups.
  • Roles: The Roles feature shows all devices in your environment that fill a hosting role, like Active Directory or Hyper-V servers, and organizes them by those roles. Refer to Device roles.
  • Tags: The Tags feature enables you to apply tags to your devices to help you easily sort and quickly locate them. Refer to Device tags.
  • Notifications: The Notifications feature contains notifications from the monitored devices across all of your clients. From this location, you can audit and respond to activity that may pose a concern to your environment. Refer to Device notifications.
  • Scopes: The Scopes feature enables you to create and edit dynamic management categories for your monitored devices, using metrics such as group membership, tags, and device types to logically group these devices together. Refer to Device scopes.
  • Active Connectors: The Active Connectors feature provides a single location from which you can audit all of the virtualization servers you've connected to your VSA 10 environment. From this page, you can see the runtime state of each hypervisor's virtual hosts, detect unhealthy instances, review events, and retrieve detailed information about each endpoint. Refer to Viewing details of active connectors.
  • Discovery and Deployment: The Discovery and Deployment feature allows you to utilize Windows OS devices with the VSA 10 Agent already installed as a probe to discover other devices on the same network and deploy the VSA 10 Agent to them. Refer to Discovering and deploying devices.
