Key feature enhancements

API v3 enhancements

When querying notifications using the VSA 10 API, the ID of the notification is now returned. For information on the VSA 10 API, refer to the VSA 10 API guide.

Apple MDM configuration profile updates

App Store Apps Management simplifies app control for IT administrators using the Apple MDM protocol. With this update, a new Apple MDM Applications profile type is introduced. By configuring this profile, administrators can do the following:

  • Deploy apps to devices automatically for consistent organization-wide installation.
  • Automate app updates to keep apps current with no manual effort.
  • Track installation and update statuses for better compliance.

This feature supports iOS and iPadOS App Store apps. The new profile type is cumulative, allowing multiple application profiles to be combined into a single policy for better flexibility and organization. Policy extensions take precedence in case of intersections, eliminating merge collisions. Refer to VSA 10 MDM: Apple MDM profiles.

Additionally, this latest update enhances visibility into managed Apple devices by improving the device details pane and Device Management page. Technicians can now do the following:

  • View installed apps and their update status for iOS devices.
  • See details on enrollment, supervision, and lock/lost mode statuses.
  • Filter devices by attributes such as enrollment type, supervision mode, and management type, enabling bulk actions and report generation.

Furthermore, a new Management type attribute unifies Agent-managed and MDM-managed statuses for simplified management.

Managed Files storage quota increase

The storage quota for Managed Files has been increased to 2 GB for all SaaS customers and 1 PB for all on-premises customers.

Characters in organization, site, and group names

The hyphen (-) character can now be used in the names of organizations, sites, and groups. As part of this change, if an existing organization, site, or group name contained a greater than (>) character, it will be converted to a hyphen (-) character.

Windows patching

This release introduces the ability to configure certain Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) behavior for targeted devices within a Patch Management policy. Refer to WSUS configuration.

This release also introduces the ability to configure certain Windows Delivery Optimization behavior for targeted devices within a Patch Management policy. Refer to Delivery Optimization configuration.

Workflows

Workflows processing has been enhanced to produce an overall workflow execution performance improvement.

macOS and Linux actions

  • Execute shell command
  • Execute file
  • Close Application
  • Get URL
