Scalepad Lifecycle Manager integration

VSA 10 can integrate with Scalepad Lifecycle Manager, allowing you to sync device information from VSA 10 to Lifecycle Manager.

NOTE  This integration is one-way (read-only). That means data flows from VSA 10 into Lifecycle Manager only; nothing is written back to VSA 10.

Prerequisites

  • In ScalePad Hub, make sure Manage Sync Settings permission is enabled for your account so you can manage integration settings.
  • In VSA 10, make sure you are logged in as an Administration user.

Configuring the integration

In VSA 10:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > API Access > Third-Party Tokens and click Create Token.
  2. Configure the token details:
    • Name: Give the token a recognizable name, such as "Lifecycle Manager".
    • Description: You can add a description to help identify the token later.
    • Token Validity Period: Set the token expiry. A 6-month period is recommended.

NOTE  While you can leave the expiry date blank, renewing the token every 6 months minimizes security risks.

  3. Click Next, and then configure the token authorization settings:
    • IP White List: Can be left blank.
    • Access: Can be left on All Organizations, or limited to only organizations you select.
    • Permissions: Grant all Device and Asset permissions for the token.
  4. Click Create and copy the Token ID and Token Secret on the confirmation page.

IMPORTANT  Store the Token Secret in a safe place where you can access it. Once you click Accept, you will not be able to retrieve this token again.

  5. Select I confirm that I saved my Token Secret code and click Accept.

In Lifecycle Manager:

  1. Navigate to Integrations and click Add integration.
  2. On the Add integration page, select Kaseya VSAX.
  3. When prompted, enter the following information:
    • VSA X Token ID: Enter the Token ID you created in VSA 10.
    • Token Secret: Enter the Token Secret you created in VSA 10.
    • Kaseya VSAX Hostname: Enter the URL for your VSA 10 account (for example, yourcompany.vsax.net)
  4. Click Connect now to perform a full sync.

Integration settings

The following integration settings are available to configure in Lifecycle Manager:

  • Only sync devices checked-in: Select which assets should sync from VSA 10 to Lifecycle Manager based on how long ago they last checked in. Choose from the following options:
    • Within past 30 days
    • Within past 60 days
    • Within past 90 days
    • All assets (no check-in limit)
  • Sync assets without serial numbers: When this is enabled, device information syncs to Lifecycle Manager even for devices that do not have serial numbers.

NOTE  Lifecycle Manager cannot perform warranty look-ups on devices that do not have a serial number, but they will appear in reports and provide a clearer picture of your managed assets.
