Using a workflow template, you can easily manage the deployment of the Datto Endpoint Backup V2 Agent on Windows machines. MacOS and Linux support for this workflow will be available at a later date.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN  In Datto Endpoint Backup Portal, copy the Deployment Token for the organization where you want to deploy the agent.

In Uniview (Endpoint Backup v2 Portal), complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to login.backup.net.
  2. Click Deployment Tokens on the left navigation menu.
  3. Choose the organization you wish to deploy to and click on Copy Token.

Next, in VSA 10, complete the following steps:

  1. From the left navigation menu in VSA 10, navigate to Automation > Workflows.
  2. From the Actions drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the Workflows page, click Create from Template.
  3. In the list of workflow templates, click Deploy Datto Endpoint Backup.
  4. In the Status section, turn on the Active toggle to activate the workflow.
  5. In the Context section, select the organization this workflow will be tied to. You will have to create one workflow per organization managed in Datto Endpoint Backup v2.

  6. Click Next to proceed to the workflow canvas.
  7. Click the CONFIGURE: Token Parameter action to add the Endpoint Backup v2 Token parameter value and paste the value you copied from Uniview.

NOTE  If you are not using an encryption key, ensure that the parameter is blank, otherwise whatever is in that field when the workflow is saved will be used as the encryption key.

  8. Click Confirm to save the workflow. You can now run this workflow against devices, agent groups, sites, and/or organizations as needed.
